One of Coderus’ goals is to deliver first-class, cross-platform mobile apps that are consistent and user-friendly across all mobile platforms. Faced with this challenge for one particular app, Coderus chose Xamarin as their platform.
Students at Langham Oaks School pitched an idea for a mobile app that received a great amount of praise and attention. The idea was a mobile app to report bullying incidents in schools. Having received support from the Diana Awards and coverage on the BBC’s ‘Look East’ news programme, the idea gained considerable momentum. Coderus recognised this as being an innovative idea and volunteered to help the kids make the app a reality.
Coderus used Xamarin to build a cross-platform, user friendly mobile app that enables students to report incidents in an easy and discreet way. The app is also used by staff members in schools to receive these reports and take the appropriate course of action. Coderus focused on making the School Anti-Bullying App accessible and consistent across all supported platforms: iOS, Android and Microsoft Windows Mobile. Our goal was to deliver a consistent UI/UX experience and functionality in all platforms, while also staying true to the initial designs that the students presented.
