At Coderus we dug deep and found some eye-popping innovations for the twelve Days of Christmas. They may not be widely known yet, but they are gadgets that the team thought looked the most interesting.

Is there a better way to celebrate Christmas and express your love to your friends and family, than by offering them thoughtful tech gifts?

In this article we present 12 gadgets that made it to our final Coderus Christmas list, plus one more suggestion that made it to the top as the ultimate Coderus suggestion

But let’s start, shall we?

1. Twinkly App controlled Christmas lights

Christmas lights reinvented! What a stocking filler! The Twinkly smart decorations company creates sets of Christmas tree lights and pre-lit trees that you can control using an app. The app allows you to customise, control and even sync the lights with music.

2. Clocky

This alarm clock you will never oversleep again! You can snooze once but then Clocky will jump off of your nightstand, and run around beeping, determined to get you out of bed.

With the trend of Smart household appliances overtaking the market, this robot cuts the grass for you and appeals to anyone wanting no-fuss way of keeping their garden looking neat and tidy.

6. Adafruit Flexible 8x8 NeoPixel RGB LED Matrix

On a more Christmassy note, this is a set of 8 by 8 RGB LEDs arranged as a grid, with a flexible PCB backing. This is ideal for wearable projects. In the spirit of Christmas, Adafruit has a tutorial on how to use this component to make an illuminated snowflake Christmas jumper to impress your friends and family with. The LEDs can be adjusted and controlled via an iOS or Android app.

7. Razer Huntsman Elite Keyboard

The product of years of research and innovation—now taken to new heights. By redefining the boundaries of precision and speed, this keyboard can only be described as ahead of its time. The next stage of keyboard evolution is here.

8. Self-watering plant pot

9. UIo Security Owl

This cute little owl looks after your stuff. The tech behind it is pretty impressive: night vision, voice controls, facial recognition and good security considerations for footage. What we liked the most is how he communicates through eye expression, like getting tired when he is low on battery or getting grumpy when it starts raining. And with its customisable look you can definitely tell that this owl has a personality!

 10. Zungle Music glasses

With these sunnies and your SIRI or Google Assistant you don’t have to cover up your ears again. They play music through your head and they are ideal for outdoor activities, too!

11. Xiaomi Mi Electric Scooter

This electronic scooter for adults, is a portable, folding scooter ideal for short distances. An intuitive, safe, and easy to hop-on-and-ride design paired scooter, that can be the best Christmas idea.

12. Ceramic mug by Ember

This would be the ideal present for those who love coffee. Not only it keeps the ideal temperature from the first sip to the last, but it also comes with an app that allows you to remotely change its temperature or set a sleep mode on when it’s empty.

Coderus’ ultimate suggestion

No matter how great these ideas are, we should all bear in mind that Christmas is about sharing and showing love to your friends, family and of course your local community.

Coderus believes that giving back to the community is and ongoing commitment and it should be happening all year long. Hence, as a proud sponsor of the Creative Computing Club, we raise donations to support young people in Suffolk that want to get into tech. And in return we give back a sustainable mug.

We are pleased to see that our colourful, environmentally friendly mugs made it to the top of the list as the ultimate present, not only during the festive season but all year long.

Please visit Creative Computer Club Charitable Foundation's website if you’d like to help us keep up the Christmas spirit all year long.
