Coderus Presented with Opportunity to Engage with Local Community

At Coderus we believe in big ideas that can be turned into collaborative projects. Over the last years we have managed to build a passionate and hardworking team, and we are constantly trying to grow bigger and be better. Following a strategic growth plan, we aim not only to make Coderus the most fulfilling working place, but to make an impact to our local community as well.

As our Coderus CEO, Mark Thomas said:

“Seizing every opportunity to give back to the community, we aim to increase our interaction with local schools, so we can demonstrate how fun technology can be and provide more insights to the young tech enthusiasts.”

Part of our growth strategy, and the fun we always want to include in our working place, was the team photoshoot for our website. With inspiring ideas on how best to depict our culture through images, we needed someone with a passion for photography who was able to capture life at Coderus and show our story through a camera lens.

Through our close contacts with the sixth form at Northgate High school, we came across Bethany, an A level photography student. After a short discussion with Bethany we realised that she was the perfect match for our needs; she wanted to expand her portfolio with more commercialised images and we loved her past work, her professionalism and her passion.

On the day it was a pleasure to welcome her at our premises and show her around Adastral Park, where all of the Innovation Martlesham companies are located. She first met the Marketing department, who explained to her their roles at Coderus and what they get up to on a day to day basis. Bethany was then introduced to the rest of the team; the developers and the testers, and everyone was ready for the shoot. Bethany started capturing the life at the office but after a few shots we thought we should take the advantage of the warm, sunny weather and continue outside. Even though getting all 24 members of the team away from their computers is hard work, Bethany rose to the challenge, with plenty of ideas and enthusiasm to get the shots she wanted. We were incredibly happy with the results, with her work portraying both our professional office atmosphere as well as the fun we have as a team.

“I have really enjoyed getting to know the team at Coderus and the day provided me with such a good opportunity to expand my photography portfolio and knowledge working with the group. It was a chance to show my work and to be able to work with new and just as creative people. I would like to thank you all for having me!”

Bethany’s lens naturally captured life at Coderus – our perks, how we spend our lunch breaks and what it’s like working for our tech company. Her enthusiasm for her work shines through – we wish her all the best for the future!
