British Science Week by the British Science Association

Coderus is a proud supporter of British Science Week, an annual U.K-wide initiative that explores innovative, new technologies in the science industry and holds events each year at BT’s Adastral Park, where we’re based. Over the years, our involvement in British Science Week has spanned several different contributions, from hosting taster sessions and live demos to regularly exhibiting at the events.

What is the British Science Week?

British Science Week is a ten-day celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths, organised by the British Science Association. Science and technology enthusiasts of all ages gather to celebrate innovative technologies in science and the latest industry-leading trends.

The event allows intellectual stimulation and support for STEM professionals, science communicators, schools, parents and the general public through a variety of entertaining events and activities.

How has Coderus been involved in British Science Week?

Coderus has been a regular exhibitor at the British Science Week events held at Adastral Park in Martlesham. In 2019, we demonstrated a mobile application we had developed that allowed users to rate images of pets. We also produced taster programming sessions for 55 schools and around 1,500 pupils at Adastral Park with BT and the Innovation Martlesham tech cluster, during British Science Week in 2018.

As an active participant in British Science Week, we have encouraged school students who have attended events at Adastral Park to design their own mobile apps by thinking about an everyday problem that could be solved with an app – through this we have engages with East Anglia Based primary and secondary schools including Kesgrave High School and Langham Oaks School.
