What is the British Science Week?

British Science Week is a ten-day celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths that takes place between the 6-15 March 2020. People of all ages gather, to celebrate innovative technologies in the science industry and learn about the latest industry-leading trends.

Run by the British Science Association, Science Week features entertaining and engaging events and activities across the UK for people of all ages and is a platform to support teachers, STEM Professionals, science communicators and members of the public.

From schools, to community groups, teachers, parents, small enterprises to large organisations, anyone can take part in the programme of events. This year’s theme for British Science week is ‘Our Diverse Planet’ finding different ways to celebrate our ecological, cultural and societal diverse society.

How has Coderus helped?

Coderus has been a regular exhibitor of the British Science Week here at BT Adastral Park in Martlesham. In 2019, we gave a demonstration of a mobile application we had developed allowing users to rate images of pets. We have also produced many taster programming sessions for 55 schools and around 1,500 pupils, at Adastral Park with BT and the Innovation Martlesham tech cluster, during Science Week in March 2018.

As an active participant of British Science Week we have also encouraged school children attendees to design their own mobile apps by thinking about an everyday problem that an app could solve and engaging with East Anglian-based primary and secondary schools including Kesgrave High School and Langham Oaks.
