Coderus is proud to announce that our team has been shortlisted for five awards in the Digital Technology Leaders Awards 2021.

What are the Digital Technology Leaders Awards?

Hosted by Computing, the Digital Technology Leaders Awards exist to recognise the outstanding achievements of the people and companies who are making an impact in digital technology: from mobile app design and coding to UX and project management, from scrum masters and product managers, all the way up to the CDO.

Best Place to Work in Digital – SMEs

The Best Place to Work in Digital Award SMEs is for companies that attract, train and retain the best and brightest talent via creating an environment where these individuals can grow and thrive.

In order to be shortlisted for this award, Coderus had to provide:

  • Evidence of a digital culture that embraces employee ideas
  • Examples of innovative digital projects with major employee involvement
  • Examples of training and supporting staff development on digital skills
  • Evidence of retaining and developing digital staff
  • Removal of organisational silos (devops) to push a clear digital strategy

We are proudly shortlisted alongside Velez Managed Services, Liftshare Group, Foods Connected, Softwire, Zaizi, The Data Shed, Vertigo Ventures, UST and Capito Ltd.

Digital Service Company of the Year

Our extensive service offering includes consultancy, strategy, agile project management, mobile app design (UX and UI) mobile app development (Android, iOS, cross-platform and IoT, software development (IoT and embedded), quality assurance and testing as well as support and maintenance.

Coderus is shortlisted for this award as a result of our commitment to surpassing client expectations and delivering quality results on each and every project we take on.

Our wide range of services, experience, accreditations and technologies allows us to tailor every solution we provide to the exact specifications set out by our clients – equipping us with the tools we need to take on any challenge presented to us by an SME.

The benefits our clients experience as a result of working with us are clear, tangible and measurable, leaving each client we partner satisfied and often approaching us for additional projects further down the line.

We are proud to be shortlisted alongside Foods Connected, Pufferr, Purechannels, Person Centred Software, IPification, Biye Biye, Intoware and Amplitude.

Mobile Project of the Year

Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Coderus helped deliver race-critical data clearly and quickly to INEOS TEAM UK, the British Challengers for the 36th America’s Cup, via a bespoke Tactical Aid App.

The challenges we encountered as a result of Covid-19 restrictions and health and safety guidelines meant that our team was forced to work remotely and was unable to travel to New Zealand as originally planned in order to work on and test the app in real life conditions to know for sure that the app would communicate properly with the sensors out in the water during the competition.

Regardless of the scale or complexity of the challenges we are presented with, our team has the skills, passion and technical expertise to produce exceptional results – as exemplified through our work on this project.

We are proud of this piece of work because we overcame several unavoidable disruptions to create an innovative solution that satisfied the client’s needs.

We are proud to be shortlisted alongside Mobliciti – Refreshing the Macfarlanes Fleet During National Lockdown; Softwire – LNER; and Salt Communications.

Digital Hero of the Year – Owen

With a major shortage of trained digital experts, many organisations succeed by hiring young people for aptitude and attitude, regardless of academic success and training them on the job in the workplace. This approach is both socially valuable and economically desirable. This award recognises young people starting in the digital world who have succeeded in training schemes without prior experience.

When Owen first joined from completing his A-Levels he had some Android app development experience but he has grown a lot since then and has learnt multiple programming languages and developed tools which aid the QA team immensely. He is a vital part of the QA team and is balancing his work life with also completing a degree as part of his apprenticeship.

Chris Hodges, Quality Assurance Engineering Lead at Coderus

Owen has been an asset in both the QA and backend team. As well as working hard on his uni course, we have gotten him to do Python courses which have helped build on his existing skill sets. It’s been great to see how he has taken direction from my mentorship to him, and listened well on how to apply it to 2 day developments.

Young Digital Professional of the Year – Kara

Young people with native digital skills are vital to modern businesses – and this award celebrates the brightest and best changing the face of business forever. This is for people in the early years of their career who are making a marked impact on their organisation by bringing fresh thinking and measurable impact.

Working with Kara has been great as she has helped greatly in building out the marketing strategy and tooling over the last 12 months and helping to onboard new staff and help mentor them. She has been great in helping get our website and SEO in a better place. It’s been great to see how Kara has taken ownership of the marketing tasks and has put many extra hours in making sure the work has been done.
