Roseanne first started out as an English Graduate at the University of Suffolk, then moved on to completing her Master’s Degree in Wild Writing: Literature, Landscape and the Environment (we asked Roseanne to explain what she did for this because we weren’t so sure either), where she spent her time writing Conservation Management Plans for Essex Wildlife Trust sites and studying our relationship with the natural world, cool right!
Alongside her academic achievements, Roseanne has also been working hard to pursue a career in marketing. After her first degree she was offered a position with a Students’ Union as Digital Coordinator and was involved in some pretty awesome marketing-lead projects involving students on campus, including the Elections, Freshers Week and the Christmas Ball.
Then, she launched her own mental health and wellbeing project, Think Travel to help young people in Suffolk with their own mental health issues. Upon completion of her Master’s degree, she was welcomed as a Marketing Executive for a commercial coffee company, writing copy for the website, implementing a social media strategy and making personas for different coffee types. Her passion for marketing soon flourished and she began scaling her own content writing and digital marketing projects as a freelancer, writing copy around employee wellbeing in the workplace, travel and tourism in Suffolk and anything marketing related, from how to implement a digital marketing strategy in business, to using the right keywords to improve SEO rankings on search engines.
What does Roseanne like to do in her spare time?
Roseanne is a huge travel enthusiast and enjoys adrenaline-pumping activities such as hiking some of the UK’s highest mountains (Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike), taking long-distance walks along the West Highland Way in Scotland and wild camping across rough terrains and often knee-deep in snow or torrential rain and all other types of changeable weather conditions that Scotland brings! She also enjoys gaming too, and owns a PS4 and VR headset at home, playing adventure games like Death Stranding, Beyond: Two Souls and Detroit Human to name a few.
Why did you want to work for Coderus, Roseanne?
“Coderus appealed to me because of the dynamic, changeable working atmosphere and environment. I knew that working for Coderus provided me with endless opportunities for growth and professional development, including taking online marketing courses, attending annual events/exhibitions and working on improving my confidence when it comes to talking to new clients! Nick and Mark both saw the potential for me to flourish in my marketing career and to my delight, offered me the position. I can’t wait to see what 2020 brings all of us at Coderus!”
